No shoe moulding

I use caulk instead of shoe moulding to cover the gap between the baseboard and an uneven floor. The trick for a clean smooth finish is first masking the floor with blue painter's tape, then "spreading" the bead with a putty knife held tight against the baseboard. Take off all excess for a flush finish. No touching with fingers needed. No wetting with water needed. Let dry overnight before building it up if required.
