Solid birch door sill is stained cherry to match new hardwood floor, glued to outer oak sill (clamped overnight to dry), attached with deck screws and galvanized 6d to new subfloor, sandwiching 30# roofing felt that's used as shim (instead of cardboard as thought earlier) and vapor barrier in entry hall. New aluminum threshold has factory screw holes that align directly over the glued seam!
